The top has a silver shield cartouche, not personalized. Inside, it's lined with the original silk and velvet and has a collection of matching mother of pearl tools. It contains a mother of pearl handled crochet hook, stiletto, button hook and corkscrew, 2 pairs of steel scissors, 2 steel bodkins and a sterling silver thimble. The scissors measure 4 3/8" and 2 5/8" long and the smaller pair isn't original to the set. They both have tight blades, intact points and cut very well. The mother of pearl tools are all in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or rust. The sterling thimble has a waffled upper band and daisy knurling. It has the English silver hallmarks for Chester 1897 and the maker's mark for Charles Horner. It's in nice condition with no holes, dents or other damage and is about an American size 7/8 (14.8 mm diameter opening). A few of the pearl tiles covering the case have some minor edge and corner nicks but all are there and the overall condition is excellent, inside and out. The case measures 7 7/8" x 3 5/8" and closes well with a push button clasp.
